Ricks Institute continues to produce future leaders who positively impact Liberia, West Africa, and the world at large. As a primary partner, RIAA, USA Inc., is committed to sustainable investments at Ricks Institute, enabling the school to meet its goals and objectives. A recent Survey of the physical campus revealed several challenges, including erosion, overgrown lawns and fields, moss-covered flaking paint on buildings, dilapidated classrooms and dorm rooms that require uplifts, and a lack of campus landscaping. All of this is a result of a lack of consistent and continuous maintenance. In conversation with the Ricks Institute Administration, plans have been made for a campus facelift, and discussions continue regarding ongoing maintenance and upkeep. In collaboration with the Administration and RIAAL, we have launched a fundraiser and an active, ongoing cleanup and beautification campaign for Ricks Institute. Begun with a $5,000 matching grant from an alumnus, we have now raised over $10,000 for this initiative, plus an additional $5,000 commitment from RIAAUSA; this initiative will be an ongoing labor of love.
