Mohamed Calico Lavalie is a logistician with emphasis in port operations. An entrepreneur, community leader and CEO of the Christopolis Maritime Solutions Liberia Limited.

Christopolis is a logistics platform providing cost effective and quality services as a single window solution to logistical needs in Liberia and inspire to lead in the West African Sub-Region.

Lavalie leads a team of young Liberians as solution proponents developing practical, innovative, and cost-effective solutions for Liberia’s Port Community.

Mr. Lavalie has founded and co-founded several organizations in and outside the maritime sector, namely: Liberia Chamber of Shipping (LCS), a legacy member of the West African Chamber of Shipping (WACS), a regional body that seeks to protect the interest of shippers and multimodal transporters.

He also co-founded the Future Farmers of Liberia for Women Empowerment (FFLEW). A poverty reduction agribusiness focusing on women empowerment based in Bong and Lofa Counties with support from Partners Worldwide and the Peace Church.

Mr. Lavalie has also served as the Director for Policy, Planning and Investment at the National Fisheries and Agriculture Authority (NaFAA) of the Republic of Liberia from 2018 to 2020.

He served as Port Terminal Strategist and Customer Service Team Lead from 2013 to 2017 at APM Terminals Liberia Limited. Chief of Staff, Office of the Managing Director, National Port Authority of Liberia from 2009 to 2012 and an Intern, later Program Assistant, Truth, and Reconciliation Commission of Liberia (TRC) from 2006 to 2008.

Currently, Mr. Lavalie is a member of the Board of Directors of Ricks Institute and President of the Ricks Institute Alumni Association Liberia (RIAAL). He’s also a member of the Board of Directors of the Future Farmers of Liberia and previously served as President of Ricks Institute Student Government 2002.

Mr. Lavalie is an advent  follower of development in Liberia, the region, and the global community, with key interest in maritime/port/Agri sectors. To get Liberia on par with the comity of nations, he would like to see a Liberian society where education, qualification and experience are the required licenses to serve specialized public offices.

Mr. Lavalie holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in General Agriculture (2010) from the University of Liberia, a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Maritime Affairs with emphasis is Port and Shipping Management (2012) from the World Maritime University, Malmo, Sweden, an International Maritime Organization Centre of excellence for postgraduate maritime education. Certificate in Port Operations and Terminal Management 2014 form the IBC Academy, Bengaluru, India. (Distance Learning).

He’s engaged to Ms. Aisha Bencee Witherspoon and have two teenagers: handsome John Joe and beautiful Amina Mohamed.
